The Foundation got anonymous calls, intimating us of a young girl that was raped by a mechanic and she was given N500. When the mother got to know she said there’s nothing she will do about it since the person in question is one of her customers. We traced the place with the address and name given to us but we did not find the mother nor anyone to talk. We then headed to the police station, where the case was mentioned and they said they were informed but didn’t take action because the mother didn’t come to them. They called her to come in with the child, which she did; we later discovered she was almost six month pregnant, yet nursing a baby of 4 months. She said she didn’t want trouble that’s why she does not want to pursue the case.
The police went after the culprit (Mr. Isiaka Adio) who thought the case was over and they prepared his case file to court. We called after that day and we’re told that he had been charged to court, the court reprimanded him and that the case was ongoing. After two months, we received a text, stating that Mr. Isiaka Adio was seen around and boasting that he has paid his way out. We called the IPO who promised to look into the case.
