Ada has not been having things easy since she started staying with her aunt – Roselyn Ejiofor. On this fateful day, she lost the N1000 note she was sent on errand with. Her aunt who didn’t listen to any explanation whatsoever after beating her mercilessly, sent her out to go look for the money.
In Ada’s attempt to escape more beatings, she slipped and had a fractured knee. The aunt did not stop her molestation until the neighbors intervened. Ada was in pains for over two (2) days unattended to before one of the neighbors notified us. Her aunt was arrested by officers from Igando Police station but was later released on bail since it wasn’t a deliberate incident. She was however reprimanded after which she wrote an undertaking to stop being abusive (physically & emotionally) even to her own children.
Ada was taken to a traditional bone-setter, who commenced work on her injured knee. Today, she is healed, hale & hearty, back with her mother in their village in Awka, Anambra state. She is also back in school, all expenses paid courtesy of the foundation.
